The Sociology and Anthropology Club provides for exploration of social issues, development of friendship networks on campus, and cultivation of professional networks for those who want to go to graduate school in sociology, anthropology, or social work. And - we have a good time!
Activities and opportunities include guest speakers, field trips, quasi-experiments on racism or other social behavior at a Louisville mall or in a local department store, playing simulation games, picnics at the home of one of the professors in the department, attendance at a sociology professional association meeting, and a chance to get to know faculty members in a more informal context.
For those who serve in offices of the club, there is an opportunity to develop and demonstrate leadership skills - which can be valuable when applying for post-college positions,
